Well, after 16.5 hours of travel time, with several potty breaks and some serious cases of car fever, we arrived in Arkansas late, late last Friday evening. Today it's....(hang on lemme check the calendar....) WEDNESDAY. I have escaped to the land of internet so that I could check my email and let you all know that we are alive.
So far, we've had a great time seeing family and friends. The kids enjoyed playing with my BFF Amanda's kids immensely and Amanda and I enjoyed laughing and catching up more than ever. Last night, we got together with my Dad's side of the family which included 4 of my cousins, my sister, 2 aunts, my uncle and each cousin's spouse. It was crazy. I forgot to grab my camera out of the car before we started snapping photos of all the cousins with our grandparents. But, here is a picture of my Granny and Paw (my grandparents) with all of their GREATgrandkids. That's right, all of their Grandchildren's children.
That's 12 great grandkids ages 18 years to 14 months. Can you pick out how many are crying? This was the first picture I snapped so the following photos were all down hill.
It was hysterically memorable. And, I won't deny that my eyes got a little more than misty when I saw all the great-grandchildren that come from these two God loving people. What a legacy they have!
Annnnyway, we are staying out at my Uncle's horse farm again this year and once again the kids have requested to ride horses every. single. day. So, we obliged them. Once. Every day since, it's rained.
Tonight we are heading over to my Maw's house (that's my Mom's Mom) with a different cousin and her kids. It is sure to continue to be an adventure while we finish up a week's worth of living in a single-wide, 3 bedroom, 2 bath trailer. You know, it's amazing how little you really need to live on.
Y'all have a very, Merry Christmas and I'll hopefully have many more photos and blog worthy moments when we return!
