Defeated

Well, my guy didn't win. Am I disappointed? Sure. Am I concerned about the future of our country? Definitely.

Am I still proud to be an American? Absolutely.

Although having Barack Obama as our next president scares the bejebbers out of me, last night when I finally clicked off the TV and rolled over to go to sleep, I thought about a few things.

No matter WHO is president...

> My pillow still feels the same.
> My husband still snores and twitches in his sleep.
> My children are still precious.
> My God still reigns.
> My price has been paid.
> My job is to pray.

Did I agree with everything George W. Bush did as president? Crap no! However, I made the choice to disagree with him in the most respectful way I could.

With Obama as our new president, I KNOW that I will not agree with all of his policies. However, I will do my best to be respectful in my disagreements. Nothing irrateted me more than when people said that George Bush was an idiot.

Really? An idiot? Hummm...that doesn't say a lot about the citizens of our country if you truly believe we elected an idiot.

Because I believe America is the best nation on the planet, I will CHOOSE to respect our new leader. Afterall, we elected him. I cast my vote, and it fell within the minority.

From this point forward, my job (among other things) is to pray for our country. My job is to pray for our new president, his wife and his family. My job is to continue to raise our children to love, fear and hope in the Lord.

Although I fear many things with Obama as our next president, my hope does not lie in politics. My hope lies in the One who paid my price, who endures all things and who knows all the days of this earth.

May He have mercy on our country.
